Both of our Patient Choice locations are available to assist applicants in their successful completion of the medical immigration application requirements for the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services. Our USCIS Designated Civil Surgeons are experienced with the medical requirements of these examinations for individuals applying for citizenship, seeking permanent Residency, or applying for a Green Card in Hampton Roads.

Frank Westmeyer, MD is board-certified in internal medicine and in emergency medicine. Dr. Westmeyer received his undergraduate degree from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and earned his medical degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
He served his internship and completed a residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Westmeyer served in the United States Navy as a member of the Medical Corps. In addition, he directed emergency medical services for a local hospital. Prior to joining Bon Secours, he was in private practice, providing primary and urgent care.
Dr. Westmeyer is a Designated Civil Surgeon for the US Immigration and Naturalization Service, as such he performs the required immigration physicals and examinations (I-693 Exam) for individuals applying for citizenship, seeking permanent Residency, or applying for a Green Card in Hampton Roads. These exams are necessary for immigrants or employers who hire employees originating from another country. Each evaluation includes an examination performed according to the medical guidelines established by the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services and Centers for Disease Control.
Jennifer Brooke Fortune, a Physician Assistant Certified, received her undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA and her Master of Physician Assistant from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. She has participated in numerous student clinical experiences in the Hampton Roads area. Additionally, Jennifer has professional involvement in a plastic surgery practice and has worked as a Physician Assistant in an urgent care practice, treating patients and prescribing medications for minor emergency issues.
Sonal Patel, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician. She received her bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery in India. She went on to perform medical observerships at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Ill., and at Faxton St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica, N.Y. Dr. Patel completed her family medicine residency at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, N.Y.
Before joining Bon Secours Medical Group, Dr. Patel practiced family medicine in Buffalo, N.Y. She has contributed to several medical publications. Dr. Patel speaks Gujarati and Hindi.
Gretchen Sapone, PA-C, received a bachelor of science in health sciences and a master of physician assistant studies from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Before joining Bon Secours, she worked in a primary care private practice.
She most enjoys the patient relationships that she has developed over the years working in a primary care setting.
