Comprehensive care for adults.

Internists of Churchland provides adults, 18 years and older, care for acute illnesses (colds, flu, fever, etc.) as well as chronic problems (high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, lung, intestinal and kidney disorders, etc.) and preventive care (physical examinations, cancer screening and vaccinations). We provide care in the office, as a consultant and as a primary physician, and offer guidance when referral to other specialists is necessary.

Raymund S Dumaran, MD

Raymund S. Dumaran, MD, a board-certified physician, received a bachelor of science degree, summa cum laude, from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Va. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Va., and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995. Dr. Dumaran is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Physicians. He is an assistant professor of Clinical Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Roderick R Mackinnon, MD, FACP

Roderick R. MacKinnon, MD, FACP, a board-certified physician, attended the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Hospitals in Milwaukee. Dr. MacKinnon is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and was elected to a fellowship in the American College of Physicians in 1995.

Dr. MacKinnon was born in Nova Scotia and raised in Michigan and Florida. He has practiced medicine in the Portsmouth/Chesapeake area since 1983. He is married and has two daughters.

Dennis "Blake" McCarver, PA-C, MPA

Dennis “Blake” McCarver, PA-C, MPA, graduated with distinction with a bachelor of science from Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, Va. He earned his master of physician assistant degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va., where he was inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Mr. McCarver was a member of the U.S. Navy for nine years, serving as a hospital corpsman. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants.
