Dr. Adams earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed a surgical internship at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center and a surgical residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He served as chief of surgery at Decatur General Hospital in Alabama.
Dr. Adams is a board certified general surgeon and a Fellow in both the American College of Surgeons and the Southeastern Surgical Congress. He is also a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Adams is married and has two sons. Dr. Adams practices with Bon Secours Surgical Specialists.
Prior to beginning his career with Bon
Secours, Dr. Chang was employed by Delta Surgical Oncology/Breast Care
Center in Portsmouth, Va., where he served as surgical director of
Chang has a bachelor of science in industrial engineering and operations research from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in New York, N.Y. He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey at the New Jersey Medical School in Newark, N.J. He completed an internship in surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., where he also served a residency in surgery.
Chang is a fellow of immunotherapy, as well as a fellow of surgical oncology with the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, Surgery Branch, in Bethesda, Md. In addition, he is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Surgery. He also is a fellow with the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Dr. Chang practices with Bon Secours Surgical Specialists.
A pioneer in bariatric surgery and a specialist in gastric bypass and the treatment of obesity, Dr. DeMaria has 23 years of experience and has performed over 2,000 bariatric surgery procedures. He is considered an expert in advanced laparoscopic surgery procedures. His surgical skills are often sought for high risk patients and those with complications, as well as patients in need of revisional procedures to correct complications or reverse weight regain.
Prior to joining Bon Secours, Dr. DeMaria served as a general and trauma surgeon at WakeMed Faculty Physicians in Raleigh, N.C. Board certified in general surgery, he has published over 120 articles. In addition, he has served on several editorial boards and is an ad hoc reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the AMA, Annals of Surgery, the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, Surgery, the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, and was honored by the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery as one of the top 30 physicians who have made a difference in bariatric surgery.
Dr. DeMaria received his Bachelor of Arts in Medical Sciences from Boston University in Boston, Mass. He earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston. He completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. Continuing his medical studies at Brown, Dr. DeMaria completed a fellowship in Trauma Research.
Dr. DeMaria is a member of many professional organizations including the American Surgical Association, the American Board of Surgery, the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO), the Surgical Review Corporation, the Society of University Surgeons, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the Executive Council of ASMBS, the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract.

Dr. Charles E. Ives holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He earned his medical doctor degree at Northwestern University
Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed his residence in Surgery at
Akron City Hospital, in Akron, Ohio. Among the procedures and surgeries
performed by Dr. Ives are laparoscopic gallbladder removal, appendectomy
and colon surgery. In addition, he is certified in hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Dr. Ives is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Medical Society of Virginia, the Norfolk Academy of Medicine, the American Medical Association and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. Dr. Ives is married and has two children. He enjoys ballroom dancing, inline skating and swimming. Dr. Ives practices with Bon Secours Surgical Specialists.
Dr. Kondylis holds a bachelor of science in biology from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. He earned his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Mass., where he also completed a National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute student research fellowship. He completed a general surgery residency at the Yale University-affiliated Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven, Conn. He completed a colorectal surgery fellowship at Saint Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pa. For the last 12 years, Dr. Kondylis has been a core faculty member of the colorectal surgery program at Saint Vincent and most recently the program’s director. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Kondylis has given 34 major research presentations and has written 14 peer-reviewed publications. He has appeared on three major television networks. He is a member of the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, Midwest Surgical Association, New England Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Pennsylvania Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He is also a registered investigator for the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Kondylis practices with Bon Secours Surgical Specialists.
Board certified in general surgery, colon and rectal surgery, Dr. Lee brings over 19 years of experience managing complex colon and rectal surgical diseases to Bon Secours.
Dr. Lee completed his undergraduate studies at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He has a master of science from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in Champaign, Ill. and earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Urbana, Ill. Dr. Lee completed an internship and residency in general surgery, as well as a colon and rectal surgery fellowship, at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Minneapolis, Minn.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS), Dr. Lee is a member of the American Medical Association, Michigan State Medical Society, Oakland County Medical Society and Michigan Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons. Additionally, he has contributed to 10 publications and seven presentations. Prior to joining Bon Secours, Dr. Lee was Service Chief of Surgery at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital in West Bloomfield Township, Mich. Dr. Lee practices with Bon Secours Surgical Specialists.
Dr. Barrett earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, where she also completed her categorical general surgery residency. She completed a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS).
Dr. Barrett is a board certified surgeon specializing in bariatric and minimally invasive general surgery. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, American Women Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Barrett lives in Virginia Beach, is married and has one child, a son. Dr. Barrett practices with Bon Secours Surgical Specialists.
Anthony D. Terracina, MD, FACS, is a board general surgeon who specializes in bariatric surgery. He is the Director for Bariatrics at Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, where he performs all of his surgical procedures. Having performed more than 3,200 surgical weight loss procedures, he is one of Hampton Roads most experienced bariatric surgeons and is the Peninsula’s choice for surgical weight loss.
Dr. Terracina received his doctorate from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi and completed his residency at the nationally renowned Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery and the American Medical Association. Dr. Terracina is also a certified proctor and instructor for Ethicon Endosurgery, teaching other surgeons the technique of minimally invasive surgery and sharing his special expertise in advance laparoscopic surgical procedures. Dr. Terracina practices with Bon Secours Surgical Specialists.
Dr. Williams holds a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. and earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. He completed a general surgery internship at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill and continued his medical training through a general surgery residency at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center in Camden, N.J.
Board certified in general surgery, Dr. Williams is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Williams has given 10 major research presentations and produced eight publications during his medical career. Prior to joining Bon Secours, he served with the Surgical Associates of Person County in Roxboro, N.C. Dr. Williams practices with Bon Secours Surgical Specialists.
Dr. Riblet specializes in general surgery. He received his bachelor of arts in chemistry from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Riblet completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, Md. In addition, he completed a fellowship in trauma and critical care from Maryland Institutes for Emergency Services Systems in Baltimore. Dr. Riblet practices with Bon Secours Surgical Specialists.
Ms. Sullivan received her BSN from the University of Virginia. She holds an MSN in advanced adult nursing with a focus in Education and a nurse practitioner certification from Hampton University. Ms. Sullivan brings over 35 years combined experience as a Registered Nurse and a Nurse Practitioner.
Over the years Ms. Sullivan has held a variety of clinical, educator and administrative positions during her career, but has always found that caring for patients with chronic health conditions to be especially rewarding. Her current position with Bon Secours Surgical Specialists offers her the daily opportunity to work with Bon Secours Surgical Weight Loss patients during their weight loss journey as well as working with patients to overcome chronic conditions associated with obesity.
Ms. Sullivan is married with three adult daughters. She has always valued and enjoyed her diverse volunteer work within her church, her community, civic organizations and children activities.
Yassar Youssef, MD, FACS is board certified in general surgery. He performed residencies at the American University of Beirut as well as Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He complete surgical fellowships at Vanderbilt University and University of Maryland. He has been appointed Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery in the Bon Secours Medical Group. Before joining Bon Secours, he served as the director of robotic surgery at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and was a professor in surgery at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Youssef specialized in robotic-assisted and minimally invasive surgeries, scarless surgeries, general surgery, breast surgery and thyroid surgery. He has trained over 400 surgeons to perform robotic-assisted surgery.
